Reading reduces stress
On World Book Day, why not curl up for a good read … and reduce stress too?
We need to read so much information in daily life – e.g. email, social media, signs, documents – but when was the last time you read, simply for pleasure?
Research by the University of Sussex proves that reading can reduce stress by up to 68%. And the benefits are even greater if it’s an ‘old-school’ paper book, rather than on the screen of an electronic device.
So why not give yourself permission to pick up your book and curl up in your favourite armchair to read … and relax. That’s exactly what I am about to do, as you can see from the photo!
