The Majesty Oak
I am fortunate enough to live near to a wonderful ancient tree called The Majesty Oak – that’s her in the photo! She is the largest maiden (non-pollarded) Oak in Britain, if not Europe, and is said to be around 800 years old. I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful tree recently – and just being in her presence was joyful and a very special experience.
Trees play a really important part in my life – and have done since I was a child. Over the years my love of trees has grown – and I have become a forest bathing guide, to help others connect deeply with nature too.
Just being in the presence of trees is scientifically proven to benefit our physical and mental health. Research shows that spending even a short time in nature is proven to decrease stress, anxiety, depression, anger and blood pressure and increase positivity, focus, creativity, sleep and energy levels. Wow!
So why not give yourself a ‘dose of nature’ and spend some time outdoors today? Your mind and body will thank you for it – and you’ll feel calm and refreshed too!
I would love to know how your time in nature was for you!
